The integration of theory and practice is one of the fundamental pillars for learning physics in relation to electrostatics. The objective is to analyse the process of teaching and learning electrostatics in the physics subject in general secondary education. Using a quantitative approach, the population was 10 teachers who teach classes in the 5th year of General Secondary Education. Fifty per cent of the institutions lack laboratories and experimental resources, which implies the urgent need to integrate interactive technologies and digital simulations to mitigate deficiencies in infrastructure. Consequently, investment in educational infrastructure and continuous teacher training are essential strategies to guarantee a comprehensive training process that favours a deep understanding of electrical phenomena, the development of critical thinking and the practical application of scientific knowledge.
