Investigative Transcendence Journal (RTI)

Types of articles

RTI accepts the following categories of articles:

  1. Research articles: Documents presenting original results of research projects. They should include an introduction, methodology, results, discussion and conclusions.
  2. Review articles: Documents that analyse, systematise and integrate the results of published research in a field of science or technology, with the aim of describing advances and development trends.
  3. Reflection articles: Documents that present research results from the author's analytical, interpretative or critical perspective on a specific topic, using original sources.

Editorial process

Submission of manuscripts

  1. Manuscripts must be unpublished and not simultaneously under consideration by other journals or publishers.
  2. Texts should be submitted in digital format through the journal's editorial management system.
  3. Manuscripts may be submitted in Spanish or English.
  4. The author must guarantee that the manuscript does not contain any copyrighted material without the corresponding permission.

Format and structure

  1. General format:
    • Document in Word format (.doc or .docx)
    • Letter size (8.5‘ x 11’)
    • Margins of 2.54 cm (1 inch) on all sides
    • Justified text
    • Line spacing 1.5
    • Times New Roman font, size 12
    • Page numbering in the lower right-hand corner
  2. Length of:
    • Research articles: between 5,000 and 8,000 words (including references)
    • Review articles: between 6,000 and 9,000 words (including references)
    • Reflection articles: between 4,000 and 7,000 words (including references)
  3. Structure of the manuscript:
    • First page: Title (in Spanish and English), full names of the authors, institutional affiliation, email, ORCID of each author.
    • Second page: Summary in Spanish and English (maximum 150 words each), descriptors (3-5) in both languages, taken from the UNESCO Thesaurus.
    • Body of the text: Introduction, methodology, results, discussion, conclusions.
    • References: Follow APA 7th edition (2019) standards.
    • Appendices and supplementary material (if applicable).
  4. Tables and figures:
    • They should be numbered consecutively according to their appearance in the text.
    • Include a descriptive title at the top for tables and at the bottom for figures.
    • Indicate the source when appropriate.
    • Submit in editable format and with adequate resolution (minimum 300 dpi for images).
    • A maximum of 6 tables and/or figures per article is recommended.
  5. Quotations and references:
    • Strictly follow APA 7th edition (2019) standards.
    • Verbatim quotations of less than 40 words should be enclosed in quotation marks within the paragraph.
    • Verbatim quotations of 40 words or more should be presented in a separate paragraph, indented 1.27 cm, without quotation marks.
    • All references cited in the text should appear in the list of references and vice versa.

Evaluation process

  1. Initial editorial review: Verification of compliance with the journal's standards and thematic relevance.
  2. Peer review: Double-blind peer review, where neither the authors nor the reviewers know each other's identities.
  3. Editorial decision: Based on the reviewers' reports, the editorial committee will make one of the following decisions:
    • Acceptance without modifications
    • Acceptance with minor modifications
    • Acceptance conditional on major modifications
    • Rejection
  4. Final version: Authors must submit the final version of the manuscript incorporating the reviewers' suggestions within the established deadline.

Ethical considerations

  1. Originality and plagiarism: Authors must guarantee that their work is original and that any material from other authors is duly cited.
  2. Authorship: All signatories must have contributed substantially to the work and assume public responsibility for its content.
  3. Conflicts of interest: Authors must declare any conflicts of interest that could influence the interpretation of their results.
  4. Research involving human subjects: Studies involving human subjects must have the approval of an ethics committee and respect the principles of the Declaration of Helsinki.

The author retains the rights to publication; however, by submitting a manuscript to RTI, authors agree that, if published, the article will be distributed under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 Licence, which allows third parties to use the published content provided that:

  • The original authorship is acknowledged
  • It is not used for commercial purposes
  • It is shared under the same licence
