The aim of the research is to analyse motivation for natural sciences based on the application of an educational programme centred on cooperative learning in virtual mode. It was carried out with a quasi-experimental design, using pre- and post-test evaluations. The sample consisted of 55 third-year general basic education students from the Luis Rogerio González Educational Unit, located in Azogues, Cañar province, Ecuador. The results show significant improvements in the three variables evaluated, which suggests that the intervention implemented was highly effective in increasing interest in the science subject, promoting better integration in cooperative groups and raising the level of satisfaction in teamwork. Meanwhile, the reduction or stability in the standard deviations in the post-tests indicates that the positive effects were distributed homogeneously among the participants.
